Phi XI

Phi XI was a planet located somewhere in the space of the Alpha or Beta Quadrants, the eleventh planet in orbit of the Phi star system, near the edge of the galaxy.

History and specifics[]

Phi XI was the site of a remote Federation colony. The planet appeared pinkish-purple from orbit. It had continents and oceans, with pink-colored surface features and a pinkish-blue sky. It featured harsh, mountainous terrain with plateaus. Vegetation included cactus and sparse grasses. Animal life included a bear-like mammal with tusks.

In the 13th century, an escape pod containing a pilot possessed by an Ur crashed on Phi XI. The Ur was trapped in a body here for over one thousand years.

In 2269, the colonists unearthed the escape pod. Pampla was a colonist before he died of massive brain trauma from the Ur.

A few weeks later, the starship USS Enterprise was diverted to the system after contact was lost with the colony. The Ur possessed the ship's crew so it could return to the Ur homeworld. (TOS - Year Four comic: "Issue 3")
