The Netherlands and surrounding nations.

The Netherlands (also known generally as Holland) is a nation-state region of the European continent on the planet Earth. It bordered Germany, Belgium, and the North Sea.

Its capital city was Amsterdam.

History and specifics[]

Holland native Wouter Van Twiller's actions as the new governor of New York in 1633 eventually triggered war. James T. Kirk would recall the incident in 2276. (TOS - Rihannsu novel: The Empty Chair)

USS Enterprise-E security guard Noel DeVrie was from Holland. (TNG novel: Resistance)

In the 24th century, the Museum of Engineering was located in the Netherlands, in Rotterdam. (TLE novel: One Constant Star)

Alternate realities[]

In an alternate version of the 1940s decade, Vladimir Lenin's assassination in 1916 reduced Russia's threat potential to Germany, which was able to conquer the Netherlands during World War II. (ENT episode: "Storm Front")

In an alternate timeline created when Dr. Leonard McCoy saved the life of Edith Keeler, the Netherlands was the eighth country Germany invaded during World War II. (TOS - Crucible novel: Provenance of Shadows)
