Morning Garden was a planet located in the region of space known as The Triangle.
History[]
Settled by Humans of Asian descent (as well as Vulcans), the colonists of Morning Garden were dependent on fishing and agriculture for their livelihood. Violence was prohibited on the planet, and its inhabitants would deport anyone who committed a violent act, or even those who may have had violent tendencies. Klingons were unwelcome on Morning Garden.
The Gathering of Advisors was the ruling body of the planet, and, at one time, considered membership in the Affiliation of Outer Free Worlds, an interstellar/inter-species union based in the Triangle. Nonetheless, both the Federation and neighboring Orions attempted to also win favor with Morning Garden. The Gathering of Advisors eventually agreed in principle to trade with the Affiliation, as well as enter into mutual protection treaties; however, the Advisors were equally known to take their time in coming to a decision, thus full membership in the Affiliation was not forthcoming. In the 2280s decade, Morning Garden was under consideration as the site for a fifth UFP/ITA Merchant Academy institution. (FASA RPG module: Spacelanes: The Magazine of Interstellar Trade)
In the 2280s, an imperial Klingon and several others were found murdered on Morning Garden. At the invitation of the Gathering of Advisors, Lieutenant Commander Semak unofficially investigated the deaths via Operation Ambergris for Starfleet Intelligence.
