Kyana Prime was the first planet in the Kyana star system of the Alsuran sector, and the site of a major Krenim colony. (STO - The Iconian War mission: "Time in a Bottle")

Geography[]

Kyana Prime was marked by its isolated, light brown continents and vast blue oceans. (STO - The Iconian War mission: "Time in a Bottle") At least one settlement was situated on a river. (VOY episode: "Year of Hell")

History[]

The Krenim colonized Kyana Prime at some point before 2174. By the mid-22nd century, the colony was the home of the military temporal scientist Annorax and his wife. The Krenim Imperium was at its height at the time but suffered from a war with the Rilnar. Annorax worked on the development of the Krenim temporal weapon ship during his time on Kyana Prime. (VOY episode: "Year of Hell"; STO - The Iconian War mission: "Time in a Bottle")

During the genocide of the Krenim people at the hands of the Vaadwaur Supremacy in 2410, the Kyanans used Annorax's specifications to remove Kyana Prime from normal space-time. The temporal generators were operated from Prime's sole natural satellite, Kyana Moon. The planet's existence and the survival of the Krenim species were a secret well kept from the Iconians and their servitor races, the Heralds and Vaadwaur. The Kyanans made a deal with the Alpha Quadrant Alliance to develop the Krenim temporal weapon ship and use it against the Iconians. (STO - The Iconian War mission: "Time in a Bottle")

Alternate timelines[]

In an alternate timeline where Annorax built his weapon ship in the 22nd century and used it to defeat the Imperium's enemies. These temporal incursions prevented the existence of the Kyana colony, and Annorax's wife. He named his ship after the planet and attempted to restore the Krenim's former might and his colony. In 2374, history was restored when the Federation starship Voyager rammed the Kyana Prime, causing a temporal incursion that erased the ship and its actions. (VOY episode: "Year of Hell"; WizKids module: Tactics)
