Kassae was star, a yellow class G dwarf star with an associated system. The Kassae system was located in the Kassae sector and Regulus sector block of the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. Kassae hosted seven planets. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Researcher Rescue")

Location[]

This system was located within the Kassae sector, one of three sectors - including the Argelius and Celes sectors - assigned to the Regulus sector block. The Kassae sector was located between 40 and 60 lightyears from Sol. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Researcher Rescue")

History[]

Around the year 12591 BCE, some 15.000 years before the 25th century, the inhabitants of the class H desert planet Kassae II had interstellar contact with their neighbors.

In the 24th century, the system was surveyed by the Federation Constellation-class starship USS Stargazer. Its crew discovered ruins of an lost civilization on Kassae II. This prompted the Federation Science Council to establish the Archaeological Research Station on the planet's surface. The archeologists discovered hints of former inhabitation by a precursor reptilian species related to the Gorn and Saurians.

During the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410, forces of the Gorn Hegemony, a member state of the Klingon Empire, invaded the Kassae system and took the scientists there as hostages in 2409. The Gorn demanded the Federation to surrender the system to its "rightful" owners. Starfleet dispatched a starship that rescued the surviving scientists at Kassae II and Kassae IV, eliminating the Gorn soldiers occupying these worlds. Captain Akira Sulu advised that the Federation Council would consider whether the Gorn claim to these planets was legitimate. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Researcher Rescue")
