Chalmers was a 23rd century Human man. He was an engineering technician and shuttle pilot who served in Starfleet aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk in the 2260s.

History[]

In 2267, Chalmers piloted the Galileo on a mission to rescue the stranded crew of a missing surveyor that crashed on the planet Taunus. He landed the class F shuttlecraft near the source of the wreck's distress call. He, James T. Kirk, Montgomery Scott, and a crewman searched the entire area but were unable to find the crash site.

Chalmers began to feel a tingling on his skin, then panicked when he realized he was hyper-aging. He'd already gone gray, lost half of his hair, and become noticeably wrinkled and arthritic. In despair, he ran back to the Galileo and took off by himself, but in his despair he lost control and it crashed against a mountainside, killing himself and blowing up the Galileo.
