(covers information from several alternate timelines)

"Watergate" was a political scandal in the 1970s that forced Richard M. Nixon to resign as President of the United States.

The Beastie Boys song "Sabotage", which a young James T. Kirk was listening to while driving a Corvette, contained the lyrics "I can't stand it, I know you planned it, I'm gonna set this straight, this Watergate." (Star Trek)

In 2369, Q told Vash that, along with the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition, he believed Watergate to be one of the most interesting events to happen on Earth. (DS9: "Q-Less")

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 3rd ed., p. 557, Watergate was a residential building on 20th century Earth.
