Sovereign Marouk was a female Acamarian and became the leader of Acamar III during the late 24th century.

In 2366, Marouk was approached by Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the United Federation of Planets when it was learned that the Gatherers, a band of nomadic Acamarian marauders, had raided a Federation outpost. The raids had made the sector, in which Acamar III resided, unsafe, with Federation research facilities destroyed and trade routes disrupted. Additionally, the Gatherers were expanding into other sectors.

After the captain successfully persuaded Marouk that reconciliation was possible, she met with Brull, a leader of an outpost on Gamma Hromi II, in an effort to complete the re-integration of Acamarian society.

Brull took Marouk to meet with Chorgan, the present leader of the Gatherers. She had a proposal in which she offered every Gatherer amnesty and had set aside a region on the homeworld for the group.

With Brull as interlocutor and Picard of the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D as mediator, Chorgan and Marouk successfully negotiated an accord, but not before Marouk's servant, Yuta, attempted to kill Chorgan because of ancient clan rivalries. (TNG: "The Vengeance Factor")

Marouk was played by Nancy Parsons.

Her sash was reused in the episode "Qpid", worn by actor John Copage as a member of the Federation Archaeology Council.
