Jimmy Bennett (born 9 February 1996; age 28) is the actor who played the adolescent James T. Kirk in Star Trek. He was born in Seal Beach, California.
Bennett began acting in 2002 at the age of six. Within his first year as an actor, he appeared in 27 television commercials and held guest spots on such primetime shows as Whoopi Goldberg's Strong Medicine (starring Jenifer Lewis) and CBS' The Guardian (starring Raphael Sbarge, in an episode with Michael Dorn). Bennett made his film debut in Daddy Day Care (2003,starring Eddie Murphy).
The following year, Bennett appeared in The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things (2004, with his Star Trek co-star Winona Ryder) and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (also featuring Holmes R. Osborne) and was heard as the voice of Lonely Boy in The Polar Express. He had leading roles in Hostage (2005, with Marjean Holden, Tina Lifford and Glenn Morshower) and The Amityville Horror (2005, opposite his Star Trek co-star, Rachel Nichols) and in Firewall (2006, playing the son of Virginia Madsen's character) and Poseidon (2006, starring Josh Lucas and Mike Vogel). He appeared in 2007's Evan Almighty, playing one of the sons of the title character.
Bennett voiced the character of Roo in several Winnie the Pooh productions from Disney, including Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie and the video game Kingdom Hearts II (with the voices of Haley Joel Osment, Robert Costanzo, Brian George, Jess Harnell, Kenneth Mars, Kevin Michael Richardson, Chris Sarandon, David Ogden Stiers, and Frank Welker). He also voiced Rerun van Pelt in two Peanuts specials. In addition, he has appeared on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2004, starring Paul Guilfoyle and Wallace Langham), with David Andrews and Tim Kelleher), Everwood (playing the son of Stephanie Niznik's character), and Gilmore Girls.
He later starred in No Ordinary Family (2010-2011, with Autumn Reeser, Stephen Collins, and Reggie Lee).
