Brad William Henke (10 April 196629 November 2022; age 56) was an actor who filmed a role as James T. Kirk's abusive uncle named Frank in Star Trek, however his scenes were deleted from the final film, and his remaining voice-over dialogue was re-dubbed by Greg Grunberg to become Kirk's stepfather. Henke made his film debut in Mr. Wrong (1996, starring Dean Stockwell). This was followed by a supporting role in The Fan (1996). After small roles in films such as Space Jam (1996, with the voices of Maurice LaMarche and Frank Welker), The Thirteenth Floor (1999), and Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), Henke had major roles in Love Object (2003, with casting by Amanda Mackey Johnson and Cathy Sandrich Gelfond) and The Assassination of Richard Nixon (2004, co-starring April Grace and Tracy Middendorf).

His subsequent film credits included Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005, with Ellen Geer), The Amateurs (2005, with Steven Weber), and Must Love Dogs (with Christopher Plummer) and Hollywoodland (2006, co-starring Adrien Brody and Larry Cedar). He appeared in World Trade Center (with Jude Ciccolella, Donna Murphy, and Tom Wright) and SherryBaby (both 2006).

Henke's next film was Choke (2008). The film screened at the Sundance Film Festival earlier that year, where Henke and his three main co-stars (Anjelica Huston, Kelly Macdonald, and Sam Rockwell) won the Grand Jury Prize for best work by an ensemble cast. Henke's other films included Around June and One Way to Valhalla.

In addition to his film work, Henke made guest appearances on such television shows as Chicago Hope (with Anne Elizabeth Ramsay), Silk Stalkings (with Leonard Kelly-Young), ER (with Clancy Brown), Sports Night (with Ray Wise), The Michael Richards Show (with Ed Begley, Jr., and Bill Cobbs), Crossing Jordan (starring Miguel Ferrer and Jerry O'Connell), Providence (with Sally Kellerman, Clyde Kusatsu, and Jeffrey Nordling), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (starring Paul Guilfoyle and Wallace Langham, with Willie Garson), Cold Case (with Vyto Ruginis). and Law & Order. He also had recurring roles on Nikki (starring Star Trek: The Next Generation guest star Nikki Cox and Toby Huss) and on Dexter.

During the 2001-2002 television season, Henke starred in Going to California. He later starred as Owen Rowan in October Road (featuring Penny Johnson). He also had a recurring role as the mysterious Bram on J.J. Adams' and Damon Lindelof's Lost, along with Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O'Quinn, Sam Anderson, Alan Dale, Patrick Fischler, Titus Welliver, Tim de Zarn, Daniel Roebuck, Sean Whalen, and Greg Grunberg.

Henke received his Liberal Arts degree from Regents College in New York. He formed his own acting school, Drive Entertainment, and coached numerous working actors. He passed away in his sleep on 29 November 2022. [3]
