The Benecia system was an inhabited planetary system in the Alpha Quadrant. It was a binary star system consisting of a pair of stars and at least one planet, Benecia, that was home to the Benecia Colony.
In the 2250s, this system was home to a warp-capable civilization which had or was in the process of being inducted into the United Federation of Planets.
Location[]
In 2259, the location of this system was labeled on a stellar cartography chart that was seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. This system's symbol had a blue color, indicating that it was affiliated with the United Federation of Planets. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds", "Children of the Comet", "Spock Amok")
The system's location was labeled in a Federation star chart that was in Fleet Admiral Kirsten Clancy's office at Starfleet Headquarters in 2399 and on the bridge of the USS Titan-A in 2401. The Benecia system was in or near to Federation space. (PIC: "Maps and Legends", "The Next Generation", "Disengage")

Appendices[]
Background information[]
The name of this system came from the source material used, the Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, to create the star charts seen in both Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard. According to Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets III") and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the two stars of this system were a pair of K-class stars.
Apocrypha[]
According to FASA's The Federation sourcebook, an alternate name for the Benecia system was Delta Majoris.
