Jade Alexandra Botterill is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Ossett and Denby Dale since 2024.[1]

Early life

Botterill grew up in Wakefield. She did not go to university and began working at the local boutique River Island when she was 16.[2]

Career

Botterill worked as parliamentary assistant and head of office to Yvette Cooper, MP now Home Secretary, from 2013 to 2019. She also worked as a Corporate Affairs Advisor for Yorkshire Water, and Public Affairs Manager for 38 Degrees.[3]

She was selected as the Labour prospective parliamentary candidate for the Ossett and Denby Dale constituency in September 2023.[4] She joined political consultancy and public relations agency Portland Communications at the beginning of 2024, and co-authored a guide to Labour parliamentary candidates for Portland clients wishing to influence an incoming Labour government.[5][6] She received a £7,500 donation from Political Lobbying Media Relations during the 2024 election campaign.[7]
