History
The early life of the Scarlet Witch largely mirrors that of her Earth-616 counterpart.
Wanda Maximoff was the daughter of Magneto and twin-sister of Quicksilver. While beginning her career as a member of his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, she eventually left to join the Avengers.[1]
Many years later, when humanity was mutated due to the release of the Terrigen Mist, Wanda and her fellow heroes did their best to help humanity through the chaos and violence that followed global mutation. After putting Titania in a coma during a fight, the Avengers found themselves the targets of the Absorbing Man's vengeance. After absorbing the intellect of Ultron, he attacked Washington, D.C. and faced the Avengers. Unprepared for his vastly increased intelligence and power, the Avengers fell one by one as the Absorbing Man countered their every ability. He killed the Scarlet Witch by creating a reverse hex equation causing her neck to snap.[2]
After her death, Wanda found herself in the Realm of the Dead. Unware that she was dead, she was doomed to fight never-ending battles with other deceased superhumans for all eternity. There she fought until Mar-Vell gathered an army and succeeded in killing Death. Wanda was not part of Mar-Vell's army, but after Mar-Vell destroyed Death and created Paradise, Wanda was one of the many super-beings that would be brought to this new afterlife. There, Wanda would consume a shard of the Cosmic Cube to create her own ideal paradise.[3]
Her fate following the invasion of Paradise by the Kree remains unrevealed.See Also
