History
The early life of Professor X largely mirrors that of his Earth-616 counterpart.
Professor Charles Xavier was a powerful mutant telepath who founded the X-Men, a group of mutant heroes dedicated to fighting for the peaceful co-existence of humanity and mutantkind. His greatest rival was his former friend, Magneto, who believed that mutants were superior to humans and needed to seize their place in the world by force.[1]
Xavier led the X-Men until the release of the Terrigen Mist caused the mutation of all of humanity. This caused the Skull's powers to manifest, creating a psychic backlash that killed virtually every telepath on the planet, Charles Xavier included. After his death, the X-Men were disbanded.[1]
Upon his death, Xavier found himself in the Realm of the Dead, fighting an endless conflict together with other deceased X-Men against other dead superhumans. Xavier was recruited by Kree hero Mar-Vell, who helped him remember his death and led an army of the dead against Death herself.[2][3]
After defeating Death, Mar-Vell created a Paradise for the dead to inhabit, giving each a portion Cosmic Cube which allowed them to create their own ideal paradises. These paradises were soon corrupted however. Xavier's dream was of a world where humans and mutants lived together in peace, but in this paradise he could only accomplish this by mentally controlling everyone on the planet. He was freed from this state as the dead began to rebel against Mar-Vell's Paradise. When the Kree launched an invasion of Paradise, Xavier was one of many superhumans who helped fight them.[4]Attributes
