Deathbird was disappointed to find that the Earthlings had somehow heard about her plan to depopulate the Earth and make it into her own personal pleasure world. They out-maneuvered her by creating a world filled with smog, though she didn't know they did it accidentally. She said that flying through those skies would be like diving into a sewer.
