I learnt English, Latin and French in school and am studying all the other listed languages by myself. My education is in the scientific field, I keep languages and music strictly as a hobby.
When I translate, I try to keep the original meaning as much as possible, but if come up with a nice adaptation that doesn't distort the point too much I'm not afraid to use it.
