The maximalist, wide-angle thing worked for me at first, but once the film moves from tonal table-setting to the narrative itself, it’s mostly downhill. The story just doesn’t cohere. Too many logical issues which make any kind of reading of it feel confused. Main character’s motivations are not particularly explicable unless one reads them metaphorically, yet we are supposed to empathise with her on a very human level. Ending is admirably violent, though. This was my first time at FOMO cinema and I ate pizza (okay) and potato gems (yum).

Very funny. Camp approximations of Amerika. Felt like I was watching sketch comedy at times, and I think it works slightly better in that register. Final third is a little tonally uneven (there’s a particularly startling act of violence between Father and Daughter which I felt should have shifted the film’s focus/approach but didn’t). Mink Stole is amazing. Saw with Josiah, Matt and Morgan.

A horror movie in which memory is the killer and humanity is the victim.

Sexiest movie ever made. Nothing more sensual than metal on metal, broom broom goes the engine baby and I'm revving for more. Gestural and sensual and everything cinema can and should be.
