Summary[]
Two days after his first title defence, Ippo wakes up, and is sent out of the house by Umezawa, as he thinks reporter might come by to interview him given the fact that they have been calling nonstop since the match ended. Meanwhile, Ippo is sleeping while fishing, with Wanpo by his side. At the airport, Nekota and Kamogawa are seeing Dankichi off, as the latter plans to go around the world looking for a new fighter. Kamogawa and Dankichi congratulate each other on their job as trainers with their respective fighters, and promise to fight each other again sometime. As their friend leaves, Nekota and Kamogawa reflect on how other men's dreams are only stepping stones for each individual fighter with hopes of getting to the world. As Ippo is fishing, Kumi drops by, making him wonder if she is no longer mad at him. She congratulates him on winning the match, and he asks her if she saw the paper. When she replies that she was there, Ippo believes she went with the other nurses to cheer for Sanada, but she lets him know that she followed his advice: she cheered for the one she wanted to win. Ippo asks if it was him, to which she says it was.
