iF Design - iF Design Award 2025

iF DESIGN AWARD 2025

The jury has started. Which entries will make it to the final round in February?

iF DESIGN AWARD 2025
Jury process started

With almost 11,000 entries from 72 countries, the iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world. Sponsored by the non-profit iF Design Foundation, the award emphasizes the global significance of design, its social relevance and guarantees the impartiality of our expert jury, which adheres to strict selection criteria.

The experts from all disciplines represented in the award select only the highest quality entries. One innovation is the stronger emphasis on sustainability as one of the five evaluation criteria in the hybrid jury process - the Online Preselection in December and the physical iF Final Jury in February, where the winners of the year are chosen.

iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 - Overview

Judging Process

The iF DESIGN AWARD jury process is divided into two stages: An online preselection, sorting out about 50 percent of all entries - and a physical final jury, deciding on the winners.

All entries are evaluated based on five updated criteria, developed together with a team of international design experts. Each juror enters his or her detailed assessment of each entry into the iF Digital Jury Tool©, which will then be available to ALL participants as a feedback chart.

  • Task: Does the design achieve what it sets out to do?

  • Relevance: Is the design relevant?

  • Fit for purpose: Is the idea appropriate?

  • Emotional appeal: Does the design engage the target group?

  • Execution: How is it made?

  • Aesthetics: Why does it look the way it does?

  • Usability: Is it easy to use?

  • Efficiency: Does it work well?

  • User Benefit: Does it serve the user?

  • Innovation: Is it new?

  • Brand Differentiation: Does it fit to the brand?

  • Social Benefit: Does it benefit society?

  • Sustainability: Is it sustainable?
