Collecting projects

The aim of collecting projects is to ensure that important parts of European cultural memory are collected, researched, understood and preserved for future generations. Through this, and in conjunction with academic research, the collection is continuously expanded and reflects different aspects of European history in all their diversity. The collecting actions follow the idea of multiperspectivity by bringing together various manifestations and interpretations of European events and developments in order to enable comparison and increase mutual understanding between different views. The term ‘collection’ includes archival material, artefacts, artworks, audio-visual media, documents, photographs, printed matter, textiles and any other manifestation of tangible heritage. It can also include, if possible, records of intangible heritage.
