Immortality is an ability used by members of the Phenex Clan of Devils.
Summary[]
An ability exclusive to the Phenex Clan, one of the families of the 72 Pillars. Due to this ability, the members of the Phenex Clan have the ability to produce Phoenix Tears, which allows their user to heal their wounds by applying the Tears on them or another person.
The ability allowed the members of the Phenex Clan to climb the top ranks of the Rating Games, as one of its users; Ruval Phenex was able to enter the Top 10 ranking and his brother; Riser Phenex, achieved victory in every Rating Game he participated in, except two that he lost on purpose out of kindness to one of the clans he is close to.
Abilities[]
Immortality is a demonic power that allows the user to regenerate and heal their wounds by expending demonic power to heal them.
The power allows the user to heal their wounds, including having their body parts destroyed, such as having their limbs blown up. It is even shown to allow the user to regenerate from having parts of their body erased by the Power of Destruction, as demonstrated during Riser's fight with Rias Gremory.
Weaknesses[]
While the ability is very powerful against most attacks, it has several weaknesses. The user's immortality can be overwhelmed by a Satan-class, God-class or other powerful beings, as the immorality cannot withstand the enormous disparity in power. The second weakness is that the user's mind isn't immortal, and suffering mentally or emotionally can weaken & even shutdown Immortality.[1]
The level of regeneration is also dependent on the level of demonic power that the user's possesses, as if they do not have sufficient levels of demonic power, they will not be able to heal themselves. Despite the Immortality providing regeneration against most attacks, it cannot regenerate wounds inflicted by/alongside (sufficient amounts of) Holy Power, such as from Boost-enhanced crosses or holy water and Holy Relics such as the True Longinus and Incinerate Anthem.[2]
