Sprang Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Sprang River. It connects the Upper East Side in Midtown Gotham City with Robbinsville and The Bowery in Uptown Gotham. The bridge also connects with the Aparo Expressway in the south.
History[]
The location of the Sprang Bridge appears on the city map of Gotham. It was visible on a map used by Captain Nathaniel Barnes when he was trying to find out who was responsible for the acts of arson that plagued Gotham City.[1]
Sprang Bridge was included on a city map of Gotham that was used by Edward Nygma when he was trying to plan his revenge against Penguin.[2]
During No Man's Land, Sprang Bridge appeared on James Gordon's city map at GCPD Headquarters. The map showed the bridge to be intact, indicating that it was spared from getting blown up by one of the Self-perpetuating Generators. Blown up bridges like Trigate Bridge and Brown Bridge were on the other hand depicted as destroyed on the map.[3]

- In DC Comics, Sprang Bridge is often visible on the official map of Gotham City that has appeared in the Batman comics on multiple occasions. In the Robin comics, a criminal group known as the Sprang Bridge Soldiers were known to operate on Sprang Bridge.
- Sprang Bridge, along with the river it crosses, was named after legendary comic book artist Dick Sprang, who worked on Batman during the Golden Age of Comic Books. Sprang was one of the most influential comic book artists of his time and co-responsible for the creation of characters like The Riddler, Firefly, The Executioner and Kite-Man.
