- For the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 armor, see Emperor Armor.
The Golden Armor (黄金の鎧 Ougon no Yoroi), also known as Gold Armor and Magic Armor, is one of Arthur's most powerful armors in the Ghosts 'n Goblins series.
The Golden Armor first appeared in Ghouls 'n Ghosts, where it can be seen in the box art. The armor can be found in random treasure chests and is equipped only if Arthur has the Steel Armor, except in the Supergrafx port where it will be equipped regardless. If he is without armor, taking the Golden Armor will equip him with the Steel Armor instead.
In Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, the Golden Armor is only found in random treasure chests while wearing the Bronze Armor.
The Golden Armor also appeared in Namco × Capcom, Project X Zone and Otoranger, and one of his costumes in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is based on it.
In Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection, the Golden Armor can be found in chests if the Knight Armor is at least partially intact, with it being a common reward for surviving a Hell Hole. Additionally, using the spell Armormend with fully intact Knight Armor changes it into Golden Armor.
Abilities[]
The armor possesses the upgrades of the Bronze Armor, but with an addition of magical power to do a third, more powerful attack. It can also take an extra hit before breaking off due to Arthur now holding a shield (however, if hit from behind both the shield and armor will shatter).
For each weapon there is a specific magic power:
In Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection, the Golden Armor does not impart the ability to use magic, as that is now a separate mechanic, but it does change each weapon into an upgraded form, similar to the shared effect of the Bronze Armor and Golden Armor in Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts. Additionally, it provides 1 additional hit point, with Arthur being left with fully intact Knight Armor after taking a hit wearing Golden Armor.
Description[]
The Golden Armor possess more detail than most of Arthur's armors and has a face plate that covers his mouth and nose.
