Deutsche Telekom - statistics & facts
Deutsche Telekom reports record profits
Deutsche Telekom has seen strong growth in recent years, reporting global revenue of 112 billion euros in 2023, continuing a trend of more than 100 billion euros annually since 2020. North American operations have accounted for a growing share of the firm’s revenue, growing to 65 percent in 2023. Meanwhile, the company’s German business accounted for 23 percent of net revenue. While net revenue has grown, the firm’s total net profit has also been consistently increasing since 2019, reaching 17.8 billion euros in 2023, the highest-ever recorded net profit for Deutsche Telekom. Despite the high revenues and profit, DT’s spending on R&D has been gradually declining in recent years and stood at 25 million euros in 2023.Germany remains a core market
Deutsche Telekom remains a major player domestically, ranking as the largest operator in Germany by revenue. In 2023, the company was estimated to have accounted for around one-third of the mobile market when measured by active SIM cards, second only to Vodafone. The company had over 61 million mobile customers that year, adding more than seven million compared to 2022. However, the average monthly revenue per mobile customer has fallen, dropping to 10 euros in 2023 from 15 euros as recently as 2017.Overall, Deutsche Telekom is poised for sustained growth in both revenue and profit over the coming years, solidifying its position as Germany’s premier telecommunications giant.
