Scotland

Scotland is the second largest country in the United Kingdom, and also the most sparsely populated, with a large share of the population located in the central belt region, and the large cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Information about demographics is provided in the first section of this report, and is followed by a chapter on the major economic indicators of Scotland, such as gross domestic product and unemployment rates. The next segment concerns politics in Scotland, which will likely revolve around the issue of Scottish independence, and the devolution of powers from Westminster for the immediate future.
