In 2022, the amount of electricity produced from natural gas added up to around 141 terawatt-hours. The amount of electricity generated from natural gas increased constantly until 2010, when it peaked at 152.7 terawatt-hours.
The figures from 1990 to 2018 were obtained from the report "Fattori di emissione atmosferica di gas a effetto serra e altri gas nel settore elettrico", published by ISPRA. Terna was mentioned as the source for the data.
