In 2022, Tokyo Prefecture registered a net gain of about 33.9 thousand new inhabitants through migration from other prefectures in Japan. In contrast, Fukushima Prefecture showed the highest net loss due to out-bound migration within Japan, with a net loss of approximately 6.65 thousand migrants.
