The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), part of the World Bank system, disbursed over 20 billion U.S. dollars each fiscal year between 2019 and 2023 to low- and middle-income countries globally. At the regional level, Latin America and the Caribbean received the most funding, reaching 8.2 billion U.S. dollars during 2023 alone. Europe and Central Asia followed behind, receiving over 4.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2023 from the IBRD.
