The joint venture entered into by Reliance Industries-owned Viacom 18 and Disney's Star India in 2024 will see the merging of two major video platforms - JioCinema and Disney+Hotstar. The combined revenue of these platforms figured just under three billion U.S. dollars in 2023. The overall revenue earned by India's leading video platforms amounted to 8.8 billion U.S. dollars that year.
