Disney Star incurred an operating loss of 315 million U.S. dollars from its sports broadcasting business in the first quarter of the financial year 2024 ended in December 2023. This was chiefly attributed to costs related to the 50-over ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. Disney Star is one of India's leading television broadcasters owned by The Walt Disney Company, that owns over 10 Star Sports-branded HD and SD channels.
