Use of contactless for payment with physical cards in Portugal 2022-2023
In Portugal, the share of people usually using the contactless system when paying with physical cards increased from 2022 to 2023. They amounted to 59 percent of all Portuguese bank account holders in 2023. Conversely, the share of people never using contactless or using it only on particular occasions decreased.
