During the financial year 2024, the special economic zones (SEZs) in India had a goods export value of around 63 billion U.S. dollars. Kandla SEZ had the highest export value of around 35 billion U.S. dollars accounting for 56 percent of the export value among key SEZ zones in the country. SEZs are geographical areas demarcated to attract foreign investments and propel economic activity, with better infrastructural support from central and state governments.
