In the financial year 2023, HDFC Bank Limited was the leading member lending institution under the Credit Guarantee Scheme (CGS-I) of the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) with nearly 160 billion Indian rupees worth of approved guarantees in India. It was followed by Union Bank of India.
CGTMSE is a joint initiative by the Government of India and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) which started in 2001. 321 financial institutions were member lending institutions of the trust at the end of the financial year 2022.
