Questioned in February 2022, slightly less than one-third of Canadians (31 percent) reported driving less in recent months to reduce their expenses. The proportion was highest in the Atlantic provinces, where almost half (46 percent) reported doing so, and lowest in Quebec, where only 23 percent did so.
For most Canadian households, the rising cost of gasoline through the spring of 2022 is a challenge.
