As of 2021, the industrial sector in Equatorial Guinea registered the highest contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Africa, at around 51 percent. Due to its large oil reserves, the country's industrial sector is dominated by the fossil fuels industry. Gabon and Libya followed, with industry accounting for approximately 5.9 percent and 48.3 percent of the GDP, respectively. On the other hand, Sierra Leone had the lowest percentage of the GDP generated by the secondary sector, at roughly six percent.
