The installed power generation capacity of biomass power in Japan was forecast to reach around 7.4 million kilowatts in 2033. Figures were estimated to increase compared to around 5.9 million kilowatts in 2023. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Japanese government currently works on increasing the share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation.

The Organization automatically aggregates the value of the generating facility that the generation company owns; however, not all development plans will necessarily be realized, and inefficient facilities will proceed to be retired resulting from actions due to political measures in the future. For newly installing facility, generating facility such as in the course of proceeding its environmental assessment or publishing its commercial operation, is included in the aggregation.
