In 2023, more than 96 percent of internet users aged between 16 and 44 years surveyed in Brazil said they had sent messages online. This rate is slightly smaller among respondents of the oldest and youngest surveyed age groups, as 87 percent of those aged older than 60 claimed to do so, and 79 percent of those aged between 10 and 15 years. Overall, the instant messaging penetration rate in Brazil amounted to 92 percent.
