Difference between consultations and feedback
Stakeholder consultations can be described as a formal guided process of collecting input and views from stakeholders, based on specific questions. This process is subject to requirements described in the Better regulation: guidelines and toolbox.
Feedback mechanisms give stakeholders opportunity to express general views, not based on specific questions provided by the Commission. Feedback process does not fall under guidelines.
Transparency, data protection, code of good practice
To ensure transparency during consultations process, organisations are invited to provide the public with relevant information about themselves by registering in the Transparency Register and subscribing to its Code of Conduct.
