Welcome

[edit]

Welcome to the Wright Challenge. It's getting busy! Feel free to ask questions here or here, or ask me or Victuallers. Andrew Dalby 21:10, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think you're in the lead with 12 points. Despite Wikimedia Catalan saying on Twitter that they would win! Are you going to be first to the barnstar? [Anon -- was that Victuallers?]
Yes, you are there already! (Lvova is doing well too, but only in one language so far.) It's wonderful to have this material in Indonesian and in Javanese too! Your participation is really appreciated. You'll get your official barnstar very soon now ...
You might like to correct one footnote at id:Percobaan pada Burung dalam Pompa Udara. Otherwise, everything looks great. Andrew Dalby 10:47, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Multilingual Challenge - 1st to the 1st post

In recognition of your major contribution to the GLAM Derby collaboration. You have gained more than 25 points by creating new articles. You and your chosen languages are now eligable to win one of the five prizes on September 3rd 2011. Thankyou. Victuallers (talk)~~

Score updated in multilingual challenge

[edit]

Hi we added your score to the "Wright Challenge" page. Hope you are enjoying the challenge you seem to be amongst the leaders or even better Victuallers (talk) 15:57, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

...and first to a score greater than 100! Well done. (Twitter feed @GLAMDerby) Victuallers (talk) 14:28, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for all your contributions so far. You and the others are doing an amazing job.
Notice that there's a new barnstar being awarded to those Wikipedians or teams who reach 72 points. You, of course, qualify for this immediately, and don't worry, it will arrive. But we need your help. We'd like to spread this challenge to some other languages. Would you dare to go to the main talk page of any other Wikipedias, maybe other languages of Indonesia or neighbouring countries, or to any friends' talk pages if you think they would be interested, and add a one-line message and link to the challenge page? It would be really good to get some more participants. Hope you can help. Andrew Dalby 19:51, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have earned it twice over ... and more ...

From Derby

[edit]
On 3rd September you can watch the LIVE WEBCAST here: meanwhile --

Thank you from the Wikimedia Foundation and
Thank you from Derby Museums
for your friendly participation in the Wright Challenge

This was the first multilingual Wikipedia collaboration. 51 Wikipedians took part, in at least 61 languages
Your contribution shows how we might work with any cultural institution, in any country ... that's the future of Wikipedia!

Andrew Dalby 11:43, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm very sorry, Sanko, seems you missed it because of the time confusion. Surely it's on YouTube? Meanwhile I can tell you it happened! Roger Bamkin (Victuallers) spoke about the success of the challenge, you were listed among the prizewinners and your picture was shown, Indonesia (possibly even East Kalimantan!) was pointed out on the map, and the Mayor of Derby, with his mayoral pen, signed copies of the books which will be sent to all prizewinners :) Andrew Dalby 11:47, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Joan Miró

[edit]

Hello! I've seen that you played at the Wright Challenge and I would like to ask you for some help. The Wikipedia in Catalan have reached an agreement with the Joan Miró Foundation: They will include QRpedia codes next to the highlights of his upcoming exhibition about Joan Miró. It's the most important exhibit in the last 20 years, and has passed summer at Tate in London, this autumn will be in Barcelona, and then will go to NGA in Washington. The articles have been made in Catalan and are being translated into English, and I would like you to help us translating some of them to your language. The more languages we have, the better the experience for the user. You can find more information about the Wikiproject here. Thank you in advance!.--Kippelboy (talk) 15:08, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can you translate the text below into the language of this wiki

We formally invite you to help us in our project. We require translators, article writers, photographers or other useful people to help us build Gibraltarpedia, the first wiki city that intends to bridge Europe and Africa. We are going to transform Gibraltar and the surrounding areas in Morocco and Spain into a virtual discovery platform using QR codes and NFC on plaques for visitors and locals.

We want Gibraltar to look like the world will when we have finished our mission.

It doesnt matter what languages you speak, we'd like articles in that language! There are also prizes up for grabs in the Gibraltarpedia Multilingual challenge for the best articles, maps and photographs, cartographers... whoever you are. More at Gibraltarpedia.org
