Sun Quan...Wu Ruler of Jiang Dong

[edit]

===With the deaths of Sun Jian and Sun Ce, Sun Quan was left to continue the foundation and take control of the Wu army. Although Sun Quan is a great ruler for the throne of Wu, one of the faults I see within Wu overall is letting an inexperience man take over rather than not letting a more capable person handle the fights. (Suggestion Zhou Yu)

The Rise of Sun Quan! A Force to be Reckoned With!

===At the battle of the Red Cliffs (Chi Bi), Sun Quan accepted an alliance between Wu and Liu Bei to defeat Cao Cao's massive army. With Zhou Yu, Zhuge Liang, Pang Tong, and Huang Gai using superior strategy, this battle helped establish Sun Quan as a powerful fiqure. The Sun family's only fault that I believe is the fact that the war for them went from Sun Jian to Sun Ce to Sun Quan and maybe even Sun ShangXiang. I suppose though when ya family is in the war nothing will ever stop the desire to bring peace back to the land. --Jin Mai 03:21, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

===Interesting point, about the first one. However, the whole point of Eastern Wu was for the Sun family to rule. You contradicted yourself by proving this in the second paragraph: when your family is involved in the war, nothing will ever stop the desire to bring peace to the land. Also, Sun Shangxiang never actually fought, or was a ruler. After Sun Quan died, Sun Liang took over, then Sun Xiu, and so on until Wu was taken over by Jin in 280. --User:Cao Wei 1:17 AM, Sunday April 16th 2006

The Sun Family

[edit]

If there is one thing, from the novel, that I admire about the Sun Family is how carefully and well-planned they were at times of battle or up-coming battles. Although Sun Jian and Sun Ce suffer horrible deaths, Sun Quan with his veteran generals still continued to fight against the hordes of the Wei army and kept a watchful eye on Shu. I say once more with feeling, Wu may have not been the best out of the kingdoms, but it was the most balance out of the two kingdoms. --Zhang Liao 19:46, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Its hard to say any state was best, but T'sao T'sao was constantly made the worst one (he was probably the most brutal against people who didn't join him and didn't agree with him), and Liu Bei's state is constantly uplifted as he's the only one with legitimate claim. However, they're not devoid of fault as they still do things like seize their allies's supplies to attack. Sun Ch'uan's forces tend to be the most 'angry' and 'strategic', as they are portrayed in ROTK, but fairly neutral in terms of good vs evil. T'sao T'sao did have the major good point of modernizing a large chunk of China with forced agriculture using his soldiers in his policies.Annihilatron (talk) 14:50, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Liu and Sun

[edit]

Out of respect for these two, and anyone carrying an Asian-stemmed name, call them by their proper names. Sun and Liu are clans, and not the names of Bei and Quan themselves. If the shortforms are to be used (Just the first name) don't use the clan. This goes for any notable general, really. It's not proper Japanese/Chinese/Korean/Vietnamese, and it's not proper english either. I've changed as many as I've found, up to the breaking of the alliances, but this isn't the only page. Anyways, we want this to be as accurate as possible, and this is how we're going to get that. 70.50.197.140 15:52, 1 September 2006 (UTC) Joe Caron[reply]

Family names are proper English usage. This claim is simply bizarre. --Nlu (talk) 15:53, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:LEDE too long

[edit]

I'm not gonna slap one of those annoying/obnoxious "lede too long" templates atop the article, but the lede really does need to be condensed. A lot of the content that's there can probably be moved down into the body...

...and before you say {{sofixit}}, I probably will fix it ... a couple months from now. But I'm putting this in Talk in case anyone wants to take care of it before I do. :-) --Ling.Nut 23:16, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deceased... when?

[edit]

There are different statements about the date of his death. ja:孫権 says April 16th, zh:孙权 says May 21st. Which may be accurate? Sarazyn丁人LKDE 07:46, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Emperor of China ¿?

[edit]

Was Sun Quan emperor of China as the succession box (bottom of the article) indicates??? Actually not none of the Three Kingdom era emperors were Emperors of China, only emperors of their Kingomds. Armando.OtalkEv 02:23, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
