Dispute

How Come all Nationalist Member Articles are being written from a Pro-Statehood Party point of view? (Spacestoned (talk) 06:33, 28 September 2010 (UTC))[reply]

From beyond the grave?

[edit]

How come the article gives her date of death as July 6, 1953, but then later in the article says "In August 1953, she wrote one of her last poems"? Bhami (talk) 05:31, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. And next time, remember Wikipedia:Be bold.--Jmundo (talk) 17:21, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"De" Burgos

[edit]

Yes, her name is Julia de Burgos. It's a weird over-correction to refer to her as "de Burgos," though. "De Burgos" isn't a double surname; it's a signal that she HAS a double surname. "Julia de Burgos" is, this very wiki page provides the information to deduce, Julia de Burgos y García. But since no one refers to her as "Burgos García," she should just be "Burgos" when only the last name is used.

Proof that this is the accepted practice? Look at the Spanish wiki page: "Burgos" throughout. Further proof: Vanessa Perez Rosario's critical biography of the poet, the most important monograph on her in English, refers to her simply as "Burgos."

tl;dr Someone needs to fix this page because it refers incorrectly to the subject it's about. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.211.38.207 (talk) 02:06, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done, Your suggestion seems to be a valid one and therefore I decided to take it into consideration. Tony the Marine (talk) 22:46, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected and expanded many references (adding missing information) and added dead link notices to a number of sources.----Lawrlafo (talk) 01:47, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
