[edit]Desirée Nosbusch is the youngest ever presenter of the Eurovision Song Contest, aged only 19 at the time of presenting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tobsonhelsinki (talk • contribs) 19:50, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Blue scoreboard and "lax"
[edit]Having just watched this one, the mention of the scoreboard turning blue is misleading - it's only the background that changes (wiki makes it sound like it breaks down, which it doesn't).
Also Desiree Nosbusch's presenting is described as "lax". Does the author mean "relaxed"? The two words do not mean the same (lax means sloppy). She's fine, and the general presentation is actually much smoother than today's - far fewer pregnant pauses and misfiring attempts at humour, and so forth. 94.195.171.87 (talk) 04:44, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- All the older articles are slowly in the process of being re-written with better wording and more citation. However this is not an easy task as there are 60 Eurovision articles and 12 Junior Eurovision articles. A bit of patience would be appreciated while the work is on-going. Thank you! Participating countries map
[edit]While Greece and Israel did not participate in this year, they are visible in this map, after what seems to be a mistake from ImStevan?

Infobox and lead
[edit]- Frank Naef's role needs to be sourced in the body for him to appear in the infobox
- Lead looks good!
Location
[edit]- "the contest, and eventually" → "the contest and eventually"
- Remove the "tickets were not sold to the general public" part so the info after as a result starts at "only press..." since the tickets are not mentioned by the source and no public tickets is implied by this anyway
Participating countries
[edit]- "of nineteen countries participated" → "of 19 countries participated" per MOS:NUM
- I think coincided would be more suitable for Wiki language than clashed here
- Img and second para look good!
- Jacques Zegers should not be wikilinked a second time under songwriters
- I don't think you should wikilink Søren Bundgaard when this leads to Hot Eyes for a second time
- Leaving this as a redirect with possibilities per MOS:REDIR. Let me know if you disagree. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 19:08, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Franco Battiato should not be wikilinked a second time under songwriters
- Giusto Pio should not be wikilinked a second time under conductor
Production and format
[edit]- First two paras look good!
- "of eleven individuals," → "of 11 individuals," per MOS:NUM
- "30 April and 1 May," → "30 April and 1 May 1984,"
- "focussed on the various" → "focused on the various"
Contest overview
[edit]- "which gave Sweden its second" → "which performed Sweden's second" on the img text to be clearer
- "as of 2024" should be moved to coming after the part saying she was the youngest individual to host the contest
- "and went on to present the contest in" → "and she presented in" to be specific because otherwise it reads as if you are talking about a later contest
- "the United Kingdom's entry." → "the UK's entry."
- Remove wikilink on Belle and the Devotions
- Remove wikilink on Louis Herrey since this is a redirect to the Herreys
- Table looks good!
Spokespersons
[edit]- Good
Detailed voting results
[edit]- All good!
Broadcasts
[edit]- The first two sentences are not fully sourced nor is the relay information about the artists and songs part
- Shouldn't the table refs be centred?
Notes
[edit]- I don't think CEST should be wikilinked twice
References
[edit]- Copyvio score looks incredible at 8.3%!!!
- I am confused regarding the lack of consistency with ref linking again; on some instances, you adhere to linking to the same sources again but on some you follow WP:OVERLINK and either one needs to be consistent
- Wikilink Telos Publishing on ref 2
- Remove www.eurovision.de from refs 8 and 15
- I have my doubts about the reliability of Vorm van vermaak on ref 26 since it is linked to Wordpress
- Cite RTL Today as publisher instead on ref 29
- Wikilink Wiwibloggs on ref 30
External links
[edit]- Good
Final comments and verdict
[edit]- On hold until all of the issues are fixed; nice work once again! --K. Peake 17:29, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Kyle Peake: Thanks for another thorough review! I believe I've resolved all the outstanding issues above. Apologies for the ref confusion, I'll be sure to be more consistent on this when nominating articles in future! I've removed ref 26 above, as I understand your doubts on this ref and I am confident the paragraph is properly sourced with the two offline sources listed. Let me know if there's anything else. - ✓ Pass now, I did a brief copy edit of the img text but really impressive response from you here! --K. Peake 08:49, 21 November 2024 (UTC)

Did you know nomination
[edit]
- ... that booing heard after the UK's entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1984 was reportedly either a response to past football hooliganism, claims of lip syncing, or alleged plagiarism of the Supremes?
