Yes, but modern English usage is Brijuni. GregorB (talk) 16:49, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's not. These islands are called the Brioni if they are called anything in English. 64.191.211.54 (talk) 13:29, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Google says otherwise:
I've added "Istria" because "brioni" does not always refer to the islands, and I've excluded Croatian web sites. I'm not really privy to the workings of the English language, all I can do is invoke the Google test. Bbc.co.uk slightly prefers Brijuni to Brioni (3 to 1 in valid hits). Nothing on cnn.com. Britannica says "Brioni (Brijuni)"[1], though. GregorB (talk) 14:55, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The name was always Brioni, in Venetian, Austrian, Italian time and when Tito was here. 1991 after the war, Croatians destroyed all, what remembered to that time, because Tito was friend of Serbia. They didn't like anymore Serbo-Croatian language, changed all in a sort of Old-Croatian. Names of ships, vilas, streets, isles, many names in the hotel... It was not good for tourism, because everybody connected Brioni with Tito. Klio (talk) 17:13, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am nominating the redirest that leads to this page for discussion/deletion. It is no longer possible to reach the article on Brioni (an Italian fashion house founded in 1945) except through Google Cache.Bobzchemist (talk) 21:44, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Instead of fighing about the name, you better should update the page. Many things are completely outdated (like the animal species of the safari park), and not a single line about the recent struggles "national park versus touristic development". I can't do it, I don't have sources, I just noticed it after having visited the island and could not see it in this article 47.68.232.114 (talk) 16:05, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
