List of Aerotropoli

[edit]

I removed this section because it does not have any sources, per WP:V, in light of the broader concerns about NPOV, etc. The restoring edit summary said I had been contacted about this change, but I must have missed it, as I don't see it here or on my talk page. — Bdb484 (talk) 00:36, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I found it. It was placed at the top of my talk page instead of the bottom, for some reason. — Bdb484 (talk) 00:37, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've added the reference markers you asked for to the page. Note that the lists and the criteria, which are linked to, are hosted by a major research university and were created by two experts in the field. Both Kasarda and Appold have been published on numerous occasions in peer-reviewed publications. The quality sources section also notes that webpages and other self-published material may be used if the author is a known expert in the field, like Kasarda. Additionally, the NPOV concerns are problematic as there really has been no major attempt by other researchers to create a catalog of which airports meet Aerotropolis/Airport City criteria. I would like to continue the discussion if you disagree! Thanks! Publiusjee (talk) 17:58, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Looks pretty good to me. I'm not clear, though, on what potential disagreement you're asking about. If you're asking just about the material that you've restored, I'm satisfied with the current citations. If you're asking about the "notable aerotropleis" section, then I'm probably not. — Bdb484 (talk) 05:07, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Is "Aerotropolis" a notable concept?

It seems most, if not all, of the references that include the term "Aerotropolis", are written by Kasarda, or news articles citing him. It looks like a self-promoted theory. Setreset (talk) 08:56, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
