Italy has participated in the Olympic Games women's team competition 14 times. It has won two medals, both silver in 1928 and 2024.[1] The team has also won two medals at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, a bronze in both 1950 and 2019.[2] They won the team gold at the 2006, 2022, and 2024 European Championships.

At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Alice D'Amato became the first Italian female artistic gymnast to win an Olympic gold medal after winning one on the balance beam.[3][4]
