The film had its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival on May 16, 2024.[2][3] It also screened at the Tribeca Festival on June 11, 2024.[4][5] and the Nantucket Film Festival in June 2024.[6][7] It was released on August 3, 2024, on HBO.[8]

The film received an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.[9]
