Aurá is a possibly extinct language, presumably part of the Tupi language family,[1][2] last spoken by two individuals in Maranhão, Brazil named Aurê and Aurá.[3] Both known speakers originally came from Pará. The language primarily used nouns, with few adjectives or verbs. Aurê has since died, leaving Aurá as the only one in the world speaking the language. Any other information about this tribe is feared to be lost to history.
