Across Mt. Wati is a 2024 Ugandan fictional film directed by Ronald Avas and shot in West Nile sub-region.[1] It features Mount Wati, approximately 1,250 meters above sea level in Terego[2] and a sacred heritage site according to Lugbara tradition. This movie premiered on Saturday 2 November 2024 at Tropical Suites Hotel in Arua City.

[edit]Across Mountain Wati is a story by Anthen Asiimwe, directed by Ronald Avas, screenplay by Emmanuel Osuzi Ayikobua (Jan Allan Osuzi), Jimmy Andama and Jimmy Ojaku. It was edited by Ronald Avas and Philliam Ajobe Samanya who was also Director Of Photography. Camera was managed by Francis Adriko who doubles as the Second Assistant Director, Mansur Yassir Dafalla and Godfrey Andabati. Production Manager Emmanuel Osuzi Ayikobua, Twalib Amiri was Assistant Director and Assistant Production Manager. Sound Design was by Mikdad Totia Paps.

Anthen Asiimwe is a film maker, radio personality and script writer who is now a film producer. Asiimwe started acting long time ago and has featured in movies like Big Spender (2014), Wanna Be Celeb (2018), Face of Love (2023) among others.
Across Mountain Wati is the third movie he has produced.
- Emmanuel Osuzi Ayikobua
Known to many as Jan Allan Osuzi, Emmanuel Osuzi Ayikobua is an actor, script writer, voice over artist and teacher. He studied Film and Literature. He is the Production Manager in the movie Across Mountain Wati; he also contributed to the screenplay of the movie.
Plot
[edit]A respected town leader's reputation is tarnished after impregnating a mentally ill woman and neglecting his responsibilities. Pressured by his community, he ultimately seeks forgiveness and cultural cleansing from the elders at Mountain Wati,[3] a place revered in Lugbara culture.
