License tagging for File:Striped smooth-hound.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Striped smooth-hound.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:31, 7 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:Striped smooth-hound.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Striped smooth-hound.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 9 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Striped smooth-hound.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Striped smooth-hound.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

April 2019

edit

Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Common octopus, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Meters (talk) 19:04, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Okay, from now on, I'll try to mark my edits if they're minor more now and I usually do anyway, but yeah, like I said, I'll try to mark them more, thanks. --Scrooosh (talk · contribs) 19:20, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
And please don't remove links that simple need to be disambiguated [1]. While Pyxis ( "[[Pyxis]]" ) may be a constellation, the first line of the article links to the disambiguation page: "For other uses, see Pyxis (disambiguation)". That page shows that the desired article to use for Giant tortoise genus is Pyxis (genus). To display that link as Pyxis just pipe the link like this: "[[Pyxis (genus) | Pyxis]] " Meters (talk) 19:29, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
You seem to have misunderstood the minor edits notice. It's not asking to ensure that you mark minor edits as minor, It's asking younot to mark edits as minor unless they truly are minor. Your edits to Common octopus, were not minor. Meters (talk) 19:33, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I just found it unusual at first that the Pyxis genus which was on the Giant tortoise page redirected me to an article about a constellation, that being the reason as to why I didn't even know it was also a tortoise genus. About the minor edits thing, I get what you mean now. I thought you meant the exact opposite, but yeah, I was a bit confused before as to what counts as a minor edit and what doesn't, but you cleared that up for me now. I knew about the piped link thing from another encyclopedia I contributed to and I will add the Pyxis link back with the piped link to redirect to the tortoise genus, thanks. --Scrooosh (talk · contribs) 19:45, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Nevermind, I noticed you added it back with the piped link. --Scrooosh (talk · contribs) 19:45, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Well, no, I wouldn't restore the wrong link and leave it for you to fix.

I know how piped links work, but I can understand if you didn't want to leave it for me. I mean I wasn't going to put the wrong link there, but okay.... --Scrooosh (talk · contribs) 13:15, 12 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
