I'd love to see some chess problems, especially nice easy ones that I can just click on. "Wikipedia is not paper", and there's no problem with storage space on the server. So, why not? --Uncle Ed 19:58 Mar 28, 2003 (UTC)

Hey, do you know what is the deal with zoe, 172, and jtdirl? Susan Mason

Talking to yourself now, Susan? We all know you are Dietary Fiber and used to be Lir and Vera Cruz, both banned for the sort behaviour that you know practice. People have just had enough of your behaviour at this stage and are watching your every edit carefully. STÓD/ÉÍRE 20:28 Apr 12, 2003 (UTC)

Mate, just back off for a little while. Trust me on this advice. You've probably gone too far aready, but if you back off right away, there is just a slim chance that nothing bad will happen. I know you are in the middle of a raging shouting match with 172 and JTD, and I know that JTD can be as rude as buggery sometimes (hell - he can be ruder than me, and that ain't easy!), but your position here is not one that enables you to take them on right now. (For the record, I have no idea who is "right" and who is "wrong" in this current dispute, nor do I intend to investigate for myself to find out - I'm happily tied up doing other stuff at present.) I should have written this earlier, before the shit really hit the fan. For that my apologies. But maybe if you keep a low profile for a while ... It's worth trying. Best -- Tannin

If you're really not Adam/Bridget/Lir/Susan Mason/Vera Cruz, why not go to the mailing list and give us proof of this? Then I will publicly apologize. -- Zoe

North Korea is not a country, and it is not "third world." (Korea is a country.) --141.219.44.92

User:Zoe You not boss lady. Tuf Kat say so absolute not. Why are you so nasty to this person Dietary Fiber? How you call them by many names? You call other people names too and upset them. Why? You make this not a nice place. I go now. User:Wei Chin Ho P.S. I study psychology. Zoe shows many symptoms paranoid. Really sad.

LOL! All these personas pretending to be or not be the same person really make me laugh. Don't you have anything better to do? C'mon, we're trying to create an encyclopedia here. We all enjoy a good laugh now and then, but please try not to take it too far. You wouldn't want to hurt another contributor's feelings, would you? --Uncle Ed 20:05 Apr 15, 2003 (UTC)

Article Licensing

edit

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Proposed deletion of Capitalism Magazine

edit

The article Capitalism Magazine has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not appear to meet notability standards, and does not appear to meaningfully assert notability. They run syndicated pieces from a few notable authors--that's nowhere near the same as having Thomas Sowell as a direct contributor.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing dated prod will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TallNapoleon (talk) 19:35, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Arabic to Maltese transition in Sicily

edit

Maltese people don't have a big tribe to protect their pages, so I hope you can look into this (making sense of the transition), opposed to unrealistic scenarios

Evidence of transition is based by these elements (evidence that Maltese were Christian Siculo Arabic speakers opposed to local converts) :

 • Absence of any record of Conversions in Malta (Maltese were originally Christian Arabic speakers)
 • Lack of any Christian Arabic source population besides the declining Norman Sicily
 • Norman adaptation of Arabic, 1086/1087 conversion of Ibn Hamud a Kalbid Arab ruler of Enna to Christianity
 • Complete Expulsion of Muslims in the 13th century removing them as a source of the Maltese language
 • Maltese words for government are Latin, instead of the Arabic terms used in Norman Sicily, which indicates Siculo origins well into the Hohenstaufen era. Droveaxle (talk) 11:04, 4 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
